I always try to convince video artists to incorporate pauses and especially chance in their installations. I don’t see the point in using multiple projections synchronized. You only get one big impressive screen and a straightforward timeline video which is experienced much better in a cinema. Instead I advise my clients to let go of control and create the possibilities for unpredicted combinations and a work that never repeats itself. At least next time you see something slightly different. While setting up another video work at Gallery Kirkhoff I tested this using the installation for my own work ‘Peace In Our Time’.
