● 8 Hour Burning Candle – extract [0:19]

Installation video. Well, the title tells most of it. For 8 hours you can watch a candle burn down until it finally extinguishes itself. When I found the technique to record directly to a hard drive and the editing program finally could handle such long timelines I experimented with different versions of this video. A tribute to Andy Warhol’s film ‘Sleep’ (1963) with John Giorno and ‘Empire’ (1964). Here is only a very small part of it.
